National Geographic has acquired Matthew Heineman’s documentary feature “The First Wave.” Shot from March 2020 to June 2020, the film captures the devastating impact of Covid-19 inside one of New York City’s hardest-hit hospitals during the pandemic’s early days.  The film will be released in theaters by Neon later this year and will after premiere on National Geographic.
