Superprime produced Oviparity, the Gucci art book created in collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker and photographer Yorgos Lanthimos. Shot at Rome’s historic Villa Albani, the project presented Gucci’s Cruise collection through Lanthimos’ singular visual language, blending mythology, fashion, and surreal portraiture. Inspired by the Greek myth of Leda and the Swan, Oviparity transformed the villa’s neoclassical halls into a dreamlike tableau where powdered elder figures appeared as living marble sculptures alongside younger models dressed in Alessandro Michele’s Cruise collection.

Working closely with Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele, Lanthimos brought his distinctive cinematic sensibility to the still image format, creating a body of work that felt both unsettling and deeply elegant. Continuing Gucci’s tradition of collaborating with influential contemporary artists, the book blurred the boundaries between fashion campaign, fine art photography, and narrative world-building, resulting in an immersive visual project that extended far beyond traditional luxury advertising.
