Rick Famuyiwa directs “Ugo: A Homecoming Story,” an original documentary presented by Superprime, WhatsApp, Translation, following Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Greek-Nigerian NBA superstar. The short film offers an intimate look at Antetokounmpo’s inaugural return to Nigeria, exploring his Nigerian heritage and traditions alongside his mother, who immigrated from Nigeria to Greece 35 years ago. Titled after Antetokounmpo’s Nigerian birth name, “Ugo” captures the familial bonds and cultural discoveries that shape the athlete’s connection to his roots.
