Superprime Films announces the signing of acclaimed actress and filmmaker Maggie Gyllenhaal for representation in branded and commercial work in the US, UK, and France.

A creative force both in front of and behind the camera, Maggie fundamentally understands both performance and storytelling. Her breakout performances in Secretary and Sherrybaby earned Golden Globe nominations, followed by an Academy Award nomination for Crazy Heart and major roles in blockbusters such as The Dark Knight.

Maggie made the transition into filmmaking with her directorial debut, The Lost Daughter, for which she also wrote the screenplay. Adapted from a novella by Elena Ferrante, it premiered at the Venice Film Festival and won the Golden Osella Best Screenplay Award. The film went on to be nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Adapted Screenplay for Gyllenhaal, Best Actress for Olivia Colman, and Best Supporting Actress for Jessie Buckley. It also received nominations for Best Director at the Golden Globes and Best Adapted Screenplay at the BAFTAs. It won four Gotham Awards, including Best Feature and Breakthrough Director, a DGA Award, and three Independent Spirit Awards.

Most recently Maggie directed the feature film, The Bride!, a 1930s-set adaptation of Frankenstein, starring Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale, Annette Bening, Penélope Cruz, Peter Sarsgaard, and Jake Gyllenhaal. It will be released in theaters on March 6, 2026.
